The Meg was one of the underrated movies of 2018, delivering a fun, often silly, but self-aware CGI-filled shark-a-thon that had an element of dark humour. The sequel, titled Meg 2: The Trench, sees Jason Statham returning to take on the biggest Megalodon shark of them all; and the trailer is finally here.
The sequel sees Statham and global action icon Wu Jing lead a daring research team on an exploratory dive into the deepest depths of the ocean. Their voyage spirals into chaos when a malevolent mining operation threatens their mission and forces them into a high-stakes battle for survival against a number of Megalodon sharks.
Meg 2: The Trench hits cinemas on 2 August 2023.
