Mortal Kombat: Watch the Gory New Trailer for the Upcoming Movie Reboot

The original 1995 Mortal Kombat movie is a seriously underrated piece of Hollywood cinema, as far as video game adaptations go, but no one can deny that it’s about time for a newer, more gorier take on the franchise that stays true to its bloody origins.

Well, the first trailer for director Simon McQuoid’s Mortal Kombat reboot is here, giving us a look at the darker tone, brutal violence, and characters who will appear in the film.

The trailer showcases the overall plot, revolving around the Mortal Kombat tournament (duh), but it also highlights the film’s new hero, Cole, who will fight alongside and against the likes of Sonya Blade, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Jax, Kano, Raiden, and more classic characters.

Mortal Kombat is hitting cinemas and HBO Max on 16 April 2020.
