3 Big Movies Releasing in SA this Weekend
We take a look at the notable movie releases hitting cinemas across SA.

This weekend sees the return of the Dark Knight (albeit in a more plastic form), a true-life drama of historical proportions, and a sequel to the most risque Hollywood movie in recent times, apparently. Here’s the movies releasing in SA this weekend, 10-12 February 2017:
Lego Batman Movie
Release date: 10 February 2017
If Batman’s moments from The Lego Movie were anything to go by, this should be a hilarious look into the world of Bruce Wayne. Will Arnett once again returns to voice the blocky superhero, with Zach Galifianakis and Michael Cera voicing the Joker and Dick Grayson/Robin respectively. However, there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if Batman wants to save the city from The Joker”s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
Denial
Release date: 10 February 2017
Rachel Weisz, Tom Wilkinson, Timothy Spall, and Andrew Scott star in this true-story drama about Deborah E. Lipstadt, who declared David Irving a holocaust denier. In the English legal system, the burden of proof is on the accused, so it was up to Lipstadt and her legal team to prove that the Holocaust occurred.

50 Shades Darker
Release date: 10 February 2017
If you’re being dragged to the cinemas this weekend in order to see the follow-up to 50 Shades of Grey (our thoughts go out to you, by the way), here’s what to expect: When a wounded Christian Grey tries to entice a cautious Ana Steele back into his life, she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance. As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christianas past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.
