Ryan Reynolds Talks Deadpool’s Potential R-Rating
Deadpool star believes the right people are involved for the merc-with-a-mouth to make his rightful mark on the big-screen.
Following the exciting confirmation that a Deadpool movie is finally heading into production with Ryan Reynolds in the starring role, the actor has been chatting about the upcoming project and how he hopes things will go down with the long-mooted project.
While on the promotional tour for Reynolds new film The Voices, he confirmed to Collider that a lot of preparation is taking place in the next couple of weeks, which will be made up of “tests. Lots of tests. Lots and lots of tests”.
Reynolds also took the opportunity to talk about debut director Tim Miller, saying that he’s “always been the right guy. He’s always shown a fierce loyalty to the canon of Deadpool.” Arguing that Miller is the kind of person “that is always wanting to push a little bit farther”, Reynolds added that “the advantage of doing a movie like this on a budget that is significantly less than any other kind of superhero movie is that you get to do things that you don’t get to do on other superhero movies”.
And with regards to whether the film will have the fan-wanted R-rating, so that we can really see Deadpool in his natural gory and foul-mouthed environment, Reynolds said “I have no idea”, he said. “I don’t want to spoil anything so we’ll see. We hope”.
We hope, too.
Deadpool will be released on February 2016.
