‘Small Soldiers’ Sequel Concept Video Using Unreal Engine 5 is a Thing of Beauty

Anyone who remembers 1998’s Small Soldiers will likely have fond memories of the toys-coming-to-life adventure movie, which told the stories of two rivalling action-figure factions who unleash war on one another in a suburban neighbourhood.

The film became a bit of a cult-classic, so much so, that a group of talented animators and filmmakers at Comadran Studios used Unreal Engine 5 to create a short film as a proof-of-concept for a bigger project.

While the short movie shares the Small Soldiers name and concept, it reimagines the designs, factions, and feel of the original for something entirely new but nostalgic at the same time.
