Last month, Paramount Pictures and Hasbro initially made the announcement of the title of the new film via the official Instagram page with accompanied by a video which showcases Optimus Prime’s face and iconic sword in the title design.
The Last Knight will begin shooting in June of this year. Mark Wahlberg will reprise his role as Cade Yeager from Transformers: Age of Extinction. After skipping the last instalment, Josh Duhamel is also set to return as William Lennox, who appeared in the first three films.
Isabela Moner recently boarded the sequel as the female lead. She is best known for such indie movies as 100 Things to Do Before High School and Growing Up Fisher. The movie also landed Jerrod Carmichael from NBC’s The Carmichael Show as the comedic relief this time out. Shooting will take place in Detroit, with various on-location shoots planned to take place throughout the world.
Iron Man writers Art Marcum & Matt Holloway are joined by Black Hawk Down writer Ken Nolan on the screenplay. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto return to produce this highly anticipated sequel. Transformers 5 will be followed by a Bumblebee spin-off movie in 2018, before Transformers 6 hits theaters in 2019.
More updates on The Last Knight are expected soon.
