‘Venom’ Trailer Shows Tom Hardy’s Transformation into Spider-Man’s Iconic Villain
“We are Venom!”
There’s no doubt that Sony and Marvel are cooking up something pretty good with the upcoming Venom movie, but the first trailer didn’t fill us with too much excitement. However, Sony has now released a second trailer for the forthcoming comic-book adaptation, and it’s safe to say that Venom is looking suitably badass.
The latest trailer gives us a comprehensive look at the film, but also keeps its cards close to its chest, which is a good thing. We see Tom Hardy as investigative journalist Eddie Brock, and the conspiracy (and alien symbiote) he stumbles across which turns him into the anti-hero, Venom.
For those who may not know, Venom is one of Spider-Man’s most famous villains, but has been considered an anti-hero of sorts throughout his appearances in Marvel’s comics and animated shows. Venom was portrayed by Topher Grace in 2007’s Spider-Man 3, but many fans weren’t happy with the representation of the character in Sam Raimi’s film.
In addition to the new trailer (check it out above), Sony also dropped the official poster for Venom:
Venom hits theatres in October 2018.
