WATCH: Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney’s Journey of Owning a Football Club in ‘Welcome to Wrexham’
A true underdog story, with the helping hands of some Hollywood stars.
The first trailer for the highly anticipated football docuseries Welcome to Wrexham has been released, which chronicles the journey of 5th division football club Wrexham following their purchase by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
Reynolds (Deadpool) and McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) act as executive producers on the series too, which will arrive exclusively on Disney+ on 25 August in South Africa and will premiere with back-to-back half-hour episodes.
The series follows the two actors as they take ownership of the third oldest professional football club in the world, tracking the dreams and worries of Wrexham, a working-class town in North Wales, UK, and the hope their football club brings.
