We at MenStuff would like to think that have a rather diverse love of music genres, so in an attempt to promote some local and international artists, we’ve decided to highlight 5 new songs that deserve your attention each week.

Here’s our picks for this weekend:

CrashCarBurn – “Pay Back the Money”

South Africa’s very-own pop-punk miscreants are back with a new track that rocks right at home. “Pay Back the Money” is a politically-fuelled song about the ongoing saga regarding President Jacob Zuma’s scandal with Nkandla.

“We’ve never been a political band,” explains the Joburg-based band. “To remain silent about the way our leaders are conducting themselves is an insult to those who fought for our freedoms. We must hold our leaders accountable for their actions. It’s not just about a house. It’s about a gap between rich and poor that is not closing. It’s about violent crime. It’s about corruption. Lack of access to healthcare and education. It’s about realising a dream to make this beautiful country everything we know it can be.”

Jack Parow – “Never Gonna Grow Up”

Jack Parow is back with a brand-new track that once plays on the nostalgia of our youth. “Never Gonna Give Up” features Riky Rick and Parow’s punchy and accentuated South Africanisms that we love, and it’s obvious that this will be jamming on our radios over the course of the weekend and beyond.

Jeremih featuring Flo Rida – “Tonight belongs to U!”

It’s been 5 years since Jeremih released his second studio album, but the elusive Chicago R&B singer is looking to reclaim the spotlight on his upcoming third. “Tonight Belongs to U!” featuring Flo Rida is his first single, and if the exclamation point in the title wasn’t enough of a tip-off, “Tonight Belongs to U!” is a high-energy banger with a chorus readymade for fist-pumping.

We Came As Romans – “The World I Used To Know”

“The World I Used To Know” is without question the most radio friendly song We Came As Romans have produced thus far in their growing catalog. There are no screams, no breakdowns, but its a brilliant and thought-provoking alternative rock track that will deliver some energy.

New Found Glory featuring Hayley Williams – “Vicious Love”

“Vicious Love” is the new song off New Found Glory’s upcoming album, Resurrection: Ascension,  which is a riff-filled anthem that features NFG guitarist Chad Gilbert’s wife, Hayley Williams of Paramore. It’s punchy, cheeky, and has a hilarious video to boot, featuring the band acting as not-so-good tattoo artists.
