Ramsfest truly delivered on their promises – a day of thunder!

Cape Town, being the 5th, and final, show of the 2012 Ramfest tour had a lot to live up to, with raucous reviews coming from the previous  shows in P.E., Bloem, Durban and Joburg. Thousands of Capetonians gave up their Monday mornings in exchange for one of the craziest Sunday nights of the year.

The music was fast and powerful, In Flames lived up to the hype and put on a mind blowing show, playing crowd favorites like Condemned and The Mirror’s Truth and finishing their set with the bone-rattling Take This Life.

The local acts did us proud with a standout performance by SA rock veterans Fokofpolisiekar playing an extremely tight set including all their hits and favorites with a special mention to a heartfelt performance of Maak of Braak – proving that Francios Van Coke and the guys stil able to artfully capture South African rock culture. The Electronic stage was stomping from 11am, Cape Town’s huge electro scene mixing effortlessly with an otherwise rock-orientated event. Standout performances by local electro-dub ‘n bass phenomena Niskerone and U.K based DJ NETSKY had everyone displaying their dirtiest dance moves in the pit.

If you couldn’t manage to get tickets this year, make sure you do next year – shows like this are not meant to be missed!
