TribeOne Festival Cancelled, Legal Action To Follow
Legal action is set to follow the news that the TribeOne music festival has been cancelled.
The TribeOne music festival has been cancelled, with the event organisers, citing conflict with the City of Tshwane as the reason for the cancellation.
The festival was set to take place in Cullinan on 26, 27 and 28 September 2014 and included international acts Nicki Minaj, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Kid Ink and J Cole; but the event organisers, Rockstar 4000, posted a statement on the TribeOne’s Facebook page confirming the cancellation.
“The site preparation and related infrastructure development required to host the Festival, being the responsibility of the CoT, fell behind schedule to a material extent, such that it was no longer realistically possible to stage and deliver the Festival to the scale and quality that the organizers had always planned. According to Business Day, the City of Tshwane is outraged and surprised by the “unilateral decision” by Rockstar 4000, led by Sony Music Entertainment Africa, and will approach legal action in order to force them to follow through with the festival.
“The City of Tshwane claims they delivered everything they were supposed to. According to them they have provided the necessary infrastructure to the open space where the festival is suppose to take place in the form of water supply, roads and electricity,” reports Business Day.
