5 Big Sports Matches You Need to Watch this Weekend
Here are the big encounters that you need to watch this weekend!
The weekend is here, and there’s a wealth of sporting action to indulge in. We’ve rounded up the five biggest clashes and encounters that you can’t afford to miss:
Cheetahs v Leinster
Friday, 20:00
Leinster were in great form when they downed the Southern Kings last weekend, and will look to rack up their second win on South African soil when they face the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein. The Cheetahs will likely put up a much tougher fight than the Kings did, but this is a Leinster side that have trumped some of the Northern Hemisphere’s biggest clubs; and should come away winners.
Prediction: Leinster by 10. You can bet on the Cheetahs v Leinster game here.
Bayern Munich v Wolfsburg
Friday, 20:00
Bayern Munich look to make it three wins on the run as they welcome Wolfsburg on Friday night. Wolfsburg have had a stormy start to the season, with the axing of manager Andries Jonker prior to Week 5’s meeting with Werder Bremen, with former Mainz manager Martin Schmidt taking the reigns, signing a deal until 2019. Under new management, can Wolfsburg turn their season around? Against Bayern, it’s unlikely.
Prediction: 2-0 to Bayern Munich. You can bet on the Bayern Munich v Wolfsburg game here.
West Ham United v Tottenham
Saturday, 13:30
West Ham have had a fairly tough time in the last few weeks, with murmurs rumbling around the new London Stadium that manager Slaven Bilic could be sacked if results don’t improve soon. Spurs have also looked a little indifferent in the Premier League, with two draws and a loss already to their names, so both sides will feel like they can take points of the other. The fact that West Ham are at home and that this is a London derby should give them extra impetus to take the game to Spurs, and hopefully get some points out of this match.
Prediction: 1-1 draw. You can bet on the West Ham United v Tottenham game here.
Sharks v Blue Bulls (Currie Cup rugby)
Saturday, 15:00
The Sharks, sitting on the top of the Currie Cup log, will look to cement their pole position with a good win over the Blue Bulls on Saturday. The Sharks have had a great run throughout their campaign, while the Bulls slipped up against the Golden Lions last week. It should be an entertaining game, but one the Sharks will ensure to take the reins in.
Prediction: Sharks by 10. You can bet on the Sharks v Blue Bulls game here.
Manchester City v Crystal Palace
Saturday, 16:00
Palace fired manager Frank De Boer after just four Premier League matches after they suffered four successive defeats, and have now registered their first win with new manager Roy Hodgson in the League Cup during the week. They’ve got a decent squad that was playing inconsistent football under De Boer, but with Hodgson, they may manage to get playing to their strengths again soon. City, though, are in indomitable form and with the home advantage their stellar attack should make short work of Palace without some sort of massive upset.
Prediction: 4-1 to Manchester City. You can bet on the Manchester City v Crystal Palace game here.
