Live Sport Streaming Coming to Showmax
Showmax Pro will bring select sports streaming to South Africans.
Multichoice-owned South African streaming service Showmax is set to add live sport to its service after the company announced plans to launch Showmax Pro, a new premium extension of the platform.
Showmax Pro will first launch in Kenya and Nigeria, but will expand to South Africa in the near future, with content differing across the regions.
As for what will be included, Showmax Pro features all Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, and PSL games as well as a wide range of live sport events including IAAF Athletics, professional boxing, and coverage of notable marathons.
For those who don’t own a DStv decoder or are part of DStv Now, Showmax Pro will be an attractive option to indulge in sports content going forward.
Local pricing is yet to be confirmed, but it was confirmed that in addition to the standard version of Showmax Pro, there will also be a mobile-only version at half the price.
