Philippe Coutinho Opens La Liga Account with a Stunning Strike [Video]
The Brazlian delivers an absolute cracker!
Philippe Coutinho’s £140m transfer from Liverpool to Barcelona drew a deserving amount of attention when he moved in the January window. He’s the world’s third most expensive player now, and considering he was brought in by the Blaugrana as a successor Andres Iniesta, he’s shouldering a lot of pressure.
He’s put in some decent performances in previous games in La Liga or the Copa Del Rey, scoring a goal in the latter, but he’s well and truly announced his arrival to the Nou Camp faithful now.
He’s well known for his ability to shoot from distance, specifically when he cuts in off the left flank with an eye on the far corner. He gave the home crowd a perfect example of why he’s such a lethal finisher from distance to score his maiden La Liga goal. After managing to lose his marker with a quick change of direction he took aim and bent a powerful strike straight past the struggling keeper.
Although he isn’t eligible to feature for Barcelona in the Champions League, he’s going to add some flair and talent to their league campaign, which is looking more and more like it will conclude with Barcelona lifting the trophy. Is this among the best he’s scored?
