Hougaard’s Try Against All Blacks Named Try Of The Year [Video]
Francois Hougaard’s long-range score gets the nod for best try of the year.
The Springboks triumphant performance at Ellis Park in the 27-25 win over the All Blacks has a high-point for South Africa’s rugby season, and one of the standout tries from the match has been awarded the Try of the Year honour from World Rugby (formerly the IRB).
The try scored by Francois Hougaard, was comprised of some enterprising backline play, as Willie le Roux took the option to run the ball from deep within the Springboks’ 22m area. Handré Pollard, Jean de Villiers, Jan Serfontein and Cornal Hendricks all had a hand to play in the impressive long-range try.
