Portugal made history last night in their final pool game against Fiji at the 2023 Rugby World Cup. While the Europeans didn’t progress to the play-offs, they managed to defeat Fiji for the first time in history and earn their first victory in a World Cup match.

The Portuguese were valiant throughout the match, hitting back at the Fijians every time they scored, and thanks to a clever quick play down the blindside by Portuguese winger Raffaele Storti, they grabbed a potential match-winner, and successfully converted following that.
