Springbok flanker Pieter-Steph du Toit’s made 28 tackles during the Rugby World Cup 2023 Final, which saw him awarded the Player of the Match award after South Africa’s narrow victory over New Zealand at the Stade de France in Paris.
This effort earns Du Toit the honour of having the record for most tackles in a Rugby World Cup game, which was previously held by Richie McCaw, who made 18 tackles against France in 2011.
