Sonny Bill Williams’ Brain-Explosion Leads to Game-Changing Red Card [Video]
SBW costs the All Blacks with a moments of madness.
Sonny Bill Williams was shown a red card just 24 minutes into the second Test between the British and Irish Lions and New Zealand at the Westpac Stadium, leading to the 2-time world champions enduring the remainder of the match with 14 men.
The inside centre caught winger Anthony Watson square in the face with his shoulder and left referee Jerome Garces with no choice but to make him the first All Black since 1967 – 50 years – to receive a red card.
The 31-year-old rugby league convert faced a disciplinary hearing in Wellington on Sunday following his dismissal, and has subsequently been handed a four-week ban.
