Tunisian Players Attack Ref After Afcon Loss To Equatorial Guinea [Video]
Things get heated as two decisions go against a dominant Tunisian side…
It’s always a sad scene of affairs when a sporting spectacle is dampened by violence and misbehavior, whether it be from the audience or players themselves, and this has become the case following the debacle after the Tunisia vs Equatorial Guinea game during the African Cup of Nations.
Tunisia were 1-0 up after 70 minutes and looking to seal off the match to help them progress to the semi-finals, but two dubious decisions that went in favour of Equatorial Guinea (one resulting in a penalty and the other a free-kick – both of which were scored) caused an uproar from the Tunisian fans, players and coaching staff.
They then surrounded referee Seechurn Rajindraparsad and fists and legs began flying, causing riot police to take to the field and help escort Rajindraparsad to safety.
