Anyone who keeps an eye on the rugby league world will know that the highly-contested State of Origin series is in progress, with the second match between the two Australian territories having taken place this week.

Referred to as “Australian sport’s greatest rivalry”, the State of Origin series is one of Australia’s premier sporting events, attracting huge television audiences and usually selling out the stadiums in which the games are played. It is regularly described as being the pinnacle of rugby league, even in comparison with international competitions. Players are selected to represent the Australian state in which they played their first senior rugby league game (either high school or local senior club).

Queensland won the first game, putting New South Wales under some pressure to secure the second game in the best-of-three competition; but the Maroons were able to put in another convincing performance to trump the Blues.

During the game, there were some great tries, but one came early in the second-half which showcased how in-sync the Queensland side is.
