Huawei Confirms P60 Pro for SA: Details & Price

Huawei has confirmed the local pricing and details of the company’s latest flagship, the Huawei P60 Pro, which will be launching in South Africa.

Design

The latest device from Huawei features a standout design for a premium look and feel. Most notable is the innovative Pearl Texture Design on the P60 Pro Rococo Pearl colourway which uses natural mineral pearl powder to create a stunning case for the device. According to Huawei, each P60 Pro in this design is unique in its texture and pattern, making it ideal for those who want to stand out from the crowd.

Camera

The new Ultra Lighting Xmage Camera system promises to take your photos to the next level with a camera system that Huawei says is capable of producing stunning images in any lighting condition. According to Huawei, the 48-megapixel Ultra Lighting Telephoto Camera can zoom in on subjects hundreds of metres away, even at night, enabling users to take clear and vivid photos of far subjects even in dimly lit conditions.

The device also has a 48-megapixel Ultra Lighting primary camera that can enhance your photos in low-light situations.

Additional features

In addition to the camera functionality and premium design, the P60 Pro also comes with the enhanced protection of the durable Kunlun Glass and a 4815 mAh high-capacity battery. The device supports 88W Huawei SuperCharge and 50W wireless fast charging.

Apps Store functionality

Of course, the big question for many users is Google app functionality on the Huawei P60 Pro. According to Huawei, users can use the AppGallery to discover dozens of Google apps — including YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, Google Maps, and Google Drive.

To access Google apps on the Huawei P60 Pro, simply visit the AppGallery to search for the apps you want and install them on your phone. Accept the prompt to add GBox to your phone during the app installation process. Once installed, all Google apps will appear on your phone’s home screen and function like any other app; you can even sign into your Google account on them.

The Huawei P60 Pro is priced at R24,999 and will be on sale from 1 June 2023.
