The British and Irish Lions travelled to Perth to take on the Western Force in their first match on their Australian tour, managing to put on a great performance that saw the men in red come out 69-17.

The Lions were dominant from start to finish, with tries by Sexton, Croft, Heaslip, Vunipola, Bowe, Farrell, Parling and Lions captain Brian O’Driscoll, who picked up 2 tries.

The Western Force did find some consolidation through Brown and McCaffery, who both crossed the tryline.

On the downside, the Lions’ front rower Cian Healy sustained a suspected ankle ligament injury and could be sidelined for an unspecified period on the tour.
