Twitter kills #Music app

Twitter has officially announced that it is pulling the cord on its music app as of 18 April 2014.

The #Music app curated conversations and tweets around music as a way of helping users discover new artists, but it appears that the integrated app hasn’t managed to capture the eyes and ears of the vast Twitter audience.

Later this afternoon, we will be removing Twitter #music from the App Store. If you have the app, it will continue to work until April 18.

In a separate tweet, the company said it would look for “new ways” to incorporate music into Twitter: “We continue to experiment with new ways to bring you great content based on the music activity we see every day on Twitter.”
