VIDEO: Brian Habana’s debut for Toulon

Springbok winger makes his debut for star-studded French Top 14 side Toulon and encounters his first loss for his new club.

Bryan Habana’s arrival in the star-studded Toulon lineup is undoubtedly a highlight for the French club, however, the Springbok winger’s first game with the club proved to be a low moment for Toulon, as they went down 28-26 to Grenoble.

Habana made his debut late in the game, stepping onto the field in the 70^th minute.

Habana had two touches of the ball, but made very little ground against the impressive defence of Grenoble.

Habana said that he enjoyed playing a role in his first match, however, he has his own goals he needs to achieve.

“First of all, getting into the starting 15 will be pretty important, and trying to contribute to every game,” said Habana.

“A loss like this is something we need to learn from and scoring a lot more than one try if we want to move on from this.”
