Juan Smith Toulon Heineken Cup final

Former Springbok flank Juan Smith was one of the heroes of Toulon’s championship win over Saracens in the Heineken Cup final on Saturday night.

The 31-year-old, who has 69 caps for South Africa, was one of the standout players of the highly-anticipated final, and his defensive and attacking efforts were welcomed contributions to the back-to-back French champions.

Smith’s try in the 59th minute was a great team effort, combining the quick hands and passing of Drew Mitchell, Mathieu Bastareaud and Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe.

Toulon went on to win 23-6.
